30 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 21 – Family Nights

Day 21 – Family Nights

Family nights highlight my week. We order pizza, play board games or Wii or Xbox, watch a movie; the point is hangin’ out together.

When I was a child, family nights consisted of playing The Game of Life or Scrabble, and picking up a pizza or carry-out Chinese. When the Atari 2600 debuted on our family tube, we played hours of Tennis, Air-Sea Battle and Indy 500.

With youth sports and school events, Family Night doesn’t happen every week, but we strive to protect it. Another way to spell “love” is “T I M E.” I hope our children will carry on the tradition with their kids.

Coinciding with “A family that prays together stays together”, I also believe “A family that plays together stays together.”
